Workshop Presented by Chris Engle-Tjaden (KBI) and Rebecca Vincent (Johnson County Sheriff's Office)

This course will introduce the student to three special imaging techniques, which will make it possible to create accurate and high quality imaging of evidence and reconstructive applications.  These techniques include documenting laser trajectory, the uses of a forensic light source or alternate light source, and close-up imaging of macro level details.  Each technique will include a basic camera set-up and an understanding of how the technique works to capture the desired images, as well as things to consider based on the instructors years of experience and special issues encountered during the documentation process.  Each technique will be presented, demonstrated, and then each student will have opportunities to practice these same techniques.  In order to better understand the equipment and techniques it is highly recommended the student bring their equipment they generally use during the documentation of evidence or crime scene conditions.  In addition this course will contain several opportunities to practice the techniques presented during the lecture.

Must be registered as an attendee for the conference to register for a workshop. Students will be placed on a waitlist to allow for law enforcement to take advantage of workshops first.
